75 and still counting!

Somehow I never thought I would reach 75,  I think because my father died at 59.  But if you hang around long enough it happens.  What's better than a hug and a card from your grand daughters?

Turned out to be a beautiful day for a ride too.   You can see the sculpture that El drew behind Marianne's beautiful Iris.  Everything is so lush this time of year.

It is the 25th Anniversary of the Swordfish Harpooner this year.

Menemsha Harbor looks pretty much like it did when I was a kid.  But back then there were a lot more fishing boats.  Sometime they would be rafted up 7 deep along Dutcher Dock

The Brickyard dates back to the 1860s so it is only about twice as old as I am.    To me it is a very special and spiritual place.

The remains of the overshot water wheel.  If you look closely you can see a few of the wooden spokes as still remaining.   Back when I was a kid there most of the water wheel was still there.

Next stop is to the top of the hill behind the lard sand dune in the distance.

Gay Head Light in the distance.
It worked out well that I postponed the installation of the Dance.  This is a much nicer and more relaxing way to spend my birthday.  Also several parties this weekend.  Life is good.
