Sculptor and video artist Jay Lagemann lives on Martha's Vineyard. He created the monumental sculpture "Swordfish Harpooner" located in Menemsha. Being a grandfather many of his sculptures are based on family themes. He shows at the Ganary Gallery, in West Tisbury, the Featherstone Arts Center and the Field Gallery. Jay's View is Shown on MVTV at 8pm on Wednesdays.
Fall is here and the leaves are starting to show it
Here's a video riding up to what may be the real Waskosim's Rock. The Martha's Vineyard Land Bank implies that the very big split rock is Waskosim's, but Ashley Hunter, who know a lot of Vineyard stuff thinks it is the one in the video.
Here is another video from my IPhone of riding through the fields at Waskosim's Rock just before sunset.

The Swordfish Harpooner Sculpture at Menemsha
I do love this sculpture even if I made it myself. It is one of the things I have done in my life that I feel proud of.
Captain Flanders House Field with Horses
Horses sure are a lot prettier to look at than mountain bikes, but require making a lot more hay to keep them going. I do appreciate being able to see them, especially in such a beautiful setting.
The Chimney at the Brickyard
If you look closely you can see the osprey nest on the top. Back when I was a kid the chimney was a heck of a lot taller. Does anyone know how tall it was originally?
Marianne and I take a CPR class from the Red Cross
Marianne Doing CPR and Rescue Breathing on a dummy. Hopefully we will never have to use these skills, but if they are needed it is sure good to know them.
A Nice Sunset from the top of Peaked Hill - the highest point on Martha's Vineyard
A nice ending to the ride. I found a new trail that is being created on the Ocean View Farm Land Bank property.
Happy cattle with an ocean view
It is always a pleasure to ride by the Keith Farm. We owe a lot to the many people who have shown their love for this island by helping to preserve it's beauty. My thanks to the Keith family for sharing this view with us.
What a nice time of day to take the "Family" to the beach
I love the late afternoon light on these clear September days. The white sculpture does present a problem in picking the exposure. Do you use less exposure and have the sculpture show more texture, or do you expose to get the landscape right? Which photo do you like? Does it matter? Leave a comment.
